About me...

cherry blossom and light blue sky

Sakura means cherry blossom in Japanese which symbolizes fleeting beauty of life and renewal. Impermanent beauty is celebrated because it reminds one to be mindful and to live in the present moment.

My middle name Haru means spring and is from my grandmother that lived to be 100 years old. She saw so much in her life from 1918-2018 and loved gardening. I grew up with flowers in the front yard and vegetables in the back, and a 5 min walk to the ocean.

After studying fine arts and sculpting, my craft brings together the best of both worlds through jewelry making. Free form carved pieces with the warmth of "wabi sabi" explores the ephemeral feeling of beauty, much like the cherry blossom tree.

Cultivation and love of flowers are reflective of the human condition. Not a necessity, but flowers helps us express things we can’t put into words. They are with us when we celebrate, when we mourn, when we say farewell, when we want to brighten our day. I hope that my pieces can help you celebrate life and love.
